Carlsbad Caverns NM
Grateful for the opportunity to see the caverns today. We moved our plans up a day since a system is moving in that is supposed to give us 3-5 inches of snow tonight. We are all snuggled into the RV and will see what comes as we sleep. The rain is falling and the temperatures are very cold. I am gratful for our home on wheels , our neighbor here in the RV lot is in a van.. Jason checked on him and he seems to be ok.
The caverns were 75 stories below ground, we took the elevator down. Which was pretty cool - watching the rock pass swiftly by. The trail we took was through the Big Room, amazing and so cool to look at all the different formations. Jeremiah slept most of the hike and by the end I think we all were a bit low on oxygen. Nothing like Mt. Fuji but surprisingly a good little hike!!
Hoping for some good sleep tonight and not to much snow, we are supposed to get on the road on Tuesday!!
